I am a composer of orchestral, chamber, and vocal music. While I am not currently creating new work, this website includes the pieces from 2011-2021 that I am most proud of and best represent my artistic voice. Many of these works were written in dialogue with and in response to works of contemporary fiction and critical theory. My music questions conventions of narrative and explores the dynamics of power and vulnerability. One through line in my music is a focus on harmony to represent complex emotions.
In addition to my own work, I am also proud of the work I did producing concerts with several close musician friends through Kettle Corn New Music.
I am thankful to many musical mentors, including John Boyle, Kathryn Alexander, Andrew Norman, Stephen Hartke, Jennifer Higdon, David Ludwig, and Mary Javian, all of whom encouraged me on my path as a composer.
Music ultimately led me to a new career in law after I began teaching music in Pennsylvania prisons in 2016. This experience reignited my interest in social justice, and I became a licensed attorney in October 2024. I work in legal aid, primarily focusing on disability and public benefits law.
